Through my own research and open discussion with fellow bookbinders, I can confidently recommend 250-300 gs/m (around 160 lbs text weight or 90 lbs cover weight). If the paper is too heavy, pages won’t turn or lay open correctly. This may cause photos to lift and separate or create creases that weaken paper over time.
